4 most common mistakes when we try to lose weight
After coaching people with their nutrition for over three years I have discovered a very common pattern on where people fail with their diet.I wanted to share my insights on this so you can make a better choice.
- Lack of knowledge. Every time I hear someone saying “I eat quite healthy” there is a small alarm going off in my ears mostly due to my experience of then analysing what people actually eat and perceive as healthy. To help you with this, we are constantly sharing information about what things are healthy and which ones are not.
- Under-eating. It is easy to get exited and want to cut down on everything and on a short term you will “lose weight” but in the long run you might be setting up for an unhealthy relationship with food.
- Dogma. Low-fat, Carbs, Meat, Vegan and Soda. Having a religious belief in a dietary guideline works for some people but for most others it corners them into a habits that will break down their health over time.
- No plan. You have reached your short term goal but what happens next have you really thought through what your longterm plan would be? Most people don’t and easily revert back to an unhealthy lifestyle and diet and then get unhappy and disappointed with themselves.
How do I know all this? Well, I am describing the commonalities with people I have coached the last years but it also reflects who I used to be.If you would like to shift and change your habits to become better please feel free to book a goal talk to change your habits and take control over who you want to be.
